FMCSA's rating of a carrier after a compliance review: Satisfactory, Conditional or Unsatisfactory.
A safety rating is assigned after an on-site compliance review. Most carriers are unrated because they have never had one.
An Unsatisfactory rating can lead to an order to cease interstate operations if it is not upgraded.
