# What is UCR?

Unified Carrier Registration, an annual fee for interstate carriers, brokers and forwarders.

UCR is a federal-state program that requires interstate motor carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies to register and pay an annual fee each registration year.

Fees are set by fleet size bracket. Registration for the next year opens in the fall, and enforcement starts January 1.
