# What is New entrant program?

FMCSA's 18-month monitoring period for new interstate carriers.

New interstate carriers are monitored for 18 months and receive a safety audit, usually within the first 12 months of operation.

Carriers that fail must submit a corrective action plan by a deadline or risk revocation of their registration.
