# What is IRP?

The International Registration Plan for apportioned vehicle registration.

IRP lets interstate carriers register vehicles in one base jurisdiction and pay registration fees apportioned across every member jurisdiction by miles driven.

The vehicle gets an apportioned plate and a cab card listing the jurisdictions it is registered for.
